Rahal Letterman Racing's official development team is Andersen Racing of Palmetto, Fla.
Andersen Racing strives to provide the best and most comprehensive training possible for future open-wheel superstars while giving its marketing partners media exposure and hospitality opportunities at some of the most prestigious events in North America.
The team provides a unique, three-step program utilizing multiple entries in three different formula car support series:
-
the F2000 Championship (webcast)
-
Star Mazda (televised on SPEED)
-
the Indy Pro Series (televised on ESPN2)
In 2008 Andersen Racing will field multiple entries in 42 races in 19 states and provinces at some of the best facilities on the continent, including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Andersen Racing's principals, brother Dan and John Andersen, have extensive experience in series administration as well as team management. They've worked with many of today's top open-wheel stars, including several Indy 500 winners. They also understand the sport from a family perspective, as both of Dan Andersen's children raced in the past. Dan's son, Mike Andersen, is a three-time SCCA Formula Continental national champion.

About Anderson Racing
Andersen Racing is headquartered at Andersen RacePark, an 18-acre facility it owns in Palmetto, Fla. that includes a 1-mile test track. This also showcases the team's efforts to always go one step beyond its competition, as most teams do not own their own testing facility. More information on the test track is available at andersenracepark.com.
Andersen RacePark is an ideal location for winter testing and as a base for early-season events in the South. In the summer, when the bulk of their races are in the East, Midwest and the West, the Rahal Letterman Racing/Andersen Racing Indy Pro Series cars are headquartered at Rahal Letterman Racing's nearly 60,000-square-foot shop in Hilliard, Ohio. This cut downs on travel expenses for the Indy Pro Series effort and also gives Andersen Racing's Indy Pro Series engineers and mechanics better access to Rahal Letterman Racing's IndyCar personnel and equipment.
Andersen Racing's Star Mazda and F2000 drivers benefit from the team's association with Rahal Letterman Racing too. One example is the twice-yearly driver symposiums that Rahal Letterman Racing conducts for all of Andersen Racing's drivers and their parents.
Rahal Letterman Racing also provides guidance and/or support for Andersen Racing's marketing, hospitality, public relations and administrative work in all three series.
Each of Andersen Racing's full-season F2000 and Star Mazda drivers earn a test at the next-highest level at year's end. Rahal Letterman Racing provided an IndyCar test for RLR/Andersen Racing's lead Indy Pro Series driver, Andrew Prendeville, in 2007, and hopes to offer more tests in the future.

Indy Pro Series
The Indy Racing League is committed to the success of its official IndyCar development series, the Indy Pro Series. The Indy Pro Series' mixture of road courses and ovals coupled with its large purses, extensive media exposure (including ESPN2) and an absolutely excellent array of venues ensures this is the place to be for drivers on the last step prior to an IndyCar or Champ Car career.
All Indy Pro Series races are run as support events to IndyCar races. This includes the world's largest single-day sporting event, the famed Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
